Douglas E. Ede

Douglas Ede is an AV rated attorney in private practice with The Ede Law Firm, which he founded in 2007. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and has lived in South Florida since 1969. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida State University’s School of Business in 1984. In 1988, a Masters of Business Administration was conferred upon him by Barry University. Mr. Ede earned a Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1988. While in law school he served on the Law Review and competed for the University on both the Moot Court and Trial teams. Mr. Ede has been a member in good standing of The Florida Bar since 1988 and is admitted to practice in all federal courts in Florida and in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Ede was a founding member and managing partner of Salas, Ede, Peterson & Lage, L.L.C. from 1999 to 2007 and previously a partner with Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell. Mr. Ede was an associate attorney for Thomas E. Scott at Davis, Scott, Weber and Edwards prior to his partnership at Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell. He has tried dozens of jury andnon‐jury cases to verdict in both state and federal courts and has written and argued appeals before the First, Third and Fourth District Courts of Appeal.

Mr. Ede’s practice concentrates upon representing business entities and individuals in a variety of matters including complex commercial litigation, labor, administrative and municipal actions and complex commercial transactions. He is presently serving as local counsel in a multitude of matters for several international law firms including Howrey Simon and Latham & Watkins. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association and Dade County Bar Association. He serves as General Counsel to Florida International Magazine and Cathedral of St. George. His civic service includes membership on the Board of Directors for YMCA of Greater Miami, Board of Directors for South Dade YMCA and Board of Directors for St. George Church and is past Chairman of the Board of South Dade YMCA. In his spare time, he coaches youth sports teams in a variety of leagues throughout Miami‐ Dade County, Florida.
